The Sekondi- Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STCCI) has launched it’s first-ever digital platform through which businesses can connect with a vast network of traders and buyers in Ghana, Africa and across the world.
The platform,www.chambersmarket.com comes with an app for both users users on the I-system and Android system.
It also enable users to own a virtual store, operate and promote business at convenience shred off risk in managing a physical store.
Speaking at the launch, the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah noted that, the initiative is in line with the government’s agenda for jobs creation, adding that, the more market access is opened, the more companies will employ workers.
He called on businesses to use the platform to help fast track trading effectively both locally and internationally.
He added that, the initiative has come at an opportune time when the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge in e-commerce and accelerated digital transformation.
The Minister observed that, government will continue to collaborate with the private sector to create more jobs for the unemployed youth.
The Chambers market would enable businesses to trade online and it aims at promoting and facilitating trade among STCCI members and other businesses worldwide.
Nii Kpani Addy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) indicated that the platform would enable patrons to access comprehensive and enhanced sales and promo services, learn of new customer preference for products/services and feedback, and boost sales and profit margins.
He said trading has become easier due to the digital economy, adding that, that businesses that adapted the internet and embraced online business in the last decade have flourished.
Meanwhile, Mr. Vincent Annan, CEO of STCCI pointed out that STCCI is a registered independent business association affiliated to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)-Ghana, serving and promoting the commercial and industrial interests of small and large companies in Ghana.
According to him, in the last 15 years, they have seen a tremendous growth of digital platforms and their influence on ones life and therefore called on members of the business community to take advantage of the platform to grow their businesses.
