On Sunday, July 19, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni-valley Constituency, Hon. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, visited voters registration centres within the constituency as part of the commencement of the phase four of the exercise.
The MP visited registration centres at Damang, Pieso, Achiase, Aboso Nsuaem, Atwereboanda and Afful to observe the level of compliance with Covid-19 safety etiquette and other registration related issues.
The Electoral Commission officials disclosed that estimated turnout at the registration centres have increased by up to 10 percent, which indicates high turnout.
The legislator was satisfied after acquainting herself with the registration processes.
As usual of her, the MP, interacted and donated nose masks and hand sanitizers to eligible voters and assured them of government’s efforts to curb the pandemic to ensure public safety and protection of lives.
She urged them to strictly adhere to the protocols by wearing of nose mask, practising social distancing, washing of hands regularly with soap under running water, the use of hand sanitizers, avoiding handshakes in other to provide a safe environment.
The MP was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dr. Isaac Dasmani, the constituency chairman for the NPP, Abbeam Danso and other NPP faithfuls.
